Model comparison
Cuisinart DCC-2750 thermal or DCC-2800 glass?
Among Cuisinart's earlier drip models, two very different serving habits can hide behind a similar full-size countertop footprint. The discontinued DCC-2750 makes a 10-cup batch into a double-wall thermal carafe; the DCC-2800 makes a 14-cup batch into a glass pot that stays on an electric plate. Neither is a pod brewer or a current-reference replacement. Start with how you serve the batch, then compare the controls and the condition of the exact parts in any used listing.
Choose how the finished pot is held
With the DCC-2750 Extreme Brew, coffee drains through the thermal carafe's lid. Its manual describes a double-wall pot that seals after brewing and rests on a non-heating plate. You can take the carafe to the table instead of keeping a glass pot on an active heater. Cuisinart does not give a quantified heat-hold time for this model, so the thermal description should not be turned into a specific number of hours. The discontinued P1 code is called Aluminum P1 on its own manufacturer page; its listed operation, linked series booklet and gallery hero asset match the DCC-2750. Keep that full code visible when checking condition and included parts.
The DCC-2800 PerfecTemp uses a glass carafe on a warming plate. You can see the remaining coffee and leave the pot on its base, but it is not insulated away from the heater. The maker's “hotter coffee” language and the PerfecTemp name are not evidence of user-selectable plate levels. The exact DCC-2800 control panel has Auto Off, Bold/Regular and small-batch controls, but no Low/Medium/High warmer buttons. If those temperature selections matter, the current-reference DCC-3200BKSNAS documents three settings in its own series manual; compare that exact configuration rather than assuming the DCC-2800 has the same control.
Capacity and control differences
The DCC-2750 is rated for ten maker-sized cups and the DCC-2800 for fourteen. Cuisinart's booklet defines its cup measure as five fluid ounces, so use the number to compare the rated reservoirs, not to promise a count of large mugs. Both models include a 1–4 cup setting for small batches and a Bold/Regular choice. The DCC-2750 has a 24-hour Auto On and an on/off Ready Tone dial; its product page lists auto shutoff without documenting a user-set duration in the booklet. The DCC-2800 provides a 24-hour start and an Auto Off period adjustable from zero to four hours after brew. Its four-hour maximum is relevant if you expect the glass pot to remain on the plate; it is not a thermal-carafe hold time.
Use a condition checklist for discontinued machines
Both booklets describe a Gold Tone filter and a charcoal water filter as part of the configuration, with #4 paper as an alternative basket filter. Ask the seller whether those pieces are actually included and inspect the mesh, basket and filter holder. For the DCC-2750, check the thermal carafe lid, pour-through mechanism and insulated pot; for the DCC-2800, check the glass for cracks, the handle attachment and a matching lid. A photographed brewer does not prove that a loose or replacement carafe belongs to the exact model.
Maintenance is similar: prepare and periodically replace the charcoal filter, take it out before decalcification, and run a fresh-water cycle before brewing again. Follow each model's instructions for the Clean cycle. The carafe and lid are listed for upper-rack dishwasher use, but the manuals caution against abrasive cleaning. Brew Pause is not a good way to serve multiple people during a batch: both books warn that leaving the carafe away for more than twenty seconds may let the basket overflow, and an early pour can weaken the rest of the batch.
Choose the DCC-2750 when taking a thermal pot off the base suits your serving rhythm and a 10-cup rating is enough. Choose the DCC-2800 only when the larger glass-pot-and-plate arrangement is what you want and you are comfortable evaluating a discontinued machine. If a current listing is important, compare the DCC-3400NAS thermal brewer or DCC-3200BKSNAS glass brewer on their own exact features; the DCC-3400NAS is thermal and smaller, while the DCC-3200BKSNAS adds selectable plate settings. In every case, verify the model code and actual condition before treating an older listing as a workable choice.
