Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would a scheduled grounds pot with a 1–4 maker-cup option cover your routine, without pod service?
The exact item is a grounds-to-glass-carafe brewer. Braun’s Type 3107 instructions identify Auto On and a dedicated 1–4 setting; no pod route is documented.
Explore this need in the finder →Must you be able to select a Bold strength setting?
No. Braun’s exact product technical table marks the coffee-strength feature “NO”; the KF6050 model-named manual does not list a Bold control.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a fixed warmer acceptable when you need a scheduled start and at least a four-hour plate interval?
The Type 3107 manual supports a selected Auto Off period up to five hours, but the KF6050 page/manual do not document selectable low/medium/high plate settings; do not assume the KF7150 controls carry over.
Explore this need in the finder →The Braun BrewSense Drip Coffee Maker KF 6050 WH (U.S. item 3107-KF6050WH) is a scheduled, grounds-only brewer built around a glass carafe. Its strongest case is a household that wants a fresh pot ready on a timer and sometimes makes a smaller batch, but does not need a selectable Bold setting or adjustable plate warmth. The white-and-stainless appearance is the finish Braun lists; the more important difference from the KF 7150 Black is in the control set, not a separate brewing format.
A smaller pot, not a pod cycle
The manual identifies a maximum water capacity of 12 Braun maker cups, or 60 fluid ounces, and a dedicated 1–4 setting. That button is useful when a full pot is excessive, but it still describes a small carafe batch rather than capsule-style single-serve sizes. The manual shows water marks for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 maker cups. Braun’s exact product page also calls the machine a 12-cup brewer, while a technical field on the same page says “working capacity 10 cup.” Those labels use different cup counts; compare the published 60-fluid-ounce maximum rather than assuming twelve large mugs.
A separate line in the manual marks an 11-ounce water fill for Braun’s Mug2Go accessory, which it says is available separately. That is a limited mug-oriented option, not evidence of a pod holder, a permanent single-cup basket, or an included mug. If your essential routine is a quick cup from a K-Cup or another compatible pod, choose a different model. The KF 6050 takes ground coffee in its basket; the instructions allow either the included gold-tone permanent filter or a cone-shaped number 4 paper filter, not both at once.
Scheduling with one warming-plate profile
The Auto On timer can start the brew at a set time after the clock and program are configured. That makes the brewer more useful for a before-work pot than a basic switch-operated machine. Auto Off is a separate control: it can be set in five-minute steps from 15 minutes through five hours, with two hours as the default. The manual also says the brewer shuts itself off two hours after brewing when a different Auto Off time has not been activated. Longer plate time is therefore something the owner must deliberately select, not an assumption about the standard setting.
The KF 6050 has a glass carafe and a warming plate, but the KF6050 manual does not offer the low, medium and high plate-temperature choices found on Braun’s KF 7150 instructions. Braun’s product table also labels the KF6050 coffee-strength control “NO.” If selecting a stronger brew or changing how the plate holds a glass pot is central to your answers, the KF 7150 Black is a better fit: its separately documented Bold option and three plate settings are not features to transfer to this sibling. The KF 6050’s simpler control panel is a real tradeoff, not proof that the two use identical settings because both are called BrewSense.
Water, cleanup and maintenance
Braun lists a charcoal water filter in the box, and the manual describes it as optional for operation but recommends using it. It must be soaked and flushed before installation; the manual recommends replacement about every two months, more often with hard tap water. A CLEAN light signals when descaling is due. Braun says the automatic cleaning cycle can take up to 45 minutes, followed by two full-carafe rinse brews. That is sensible to plan for if you use hard water, rather than treating the indicator as a performance measurement.
The carafe-removal feature pauses flow through the anti-drip basket while coffee is poured, but the manual limits the pause to 20 seconds before the carafe should be returned. The carafe, lid, filter basket and permanent filter can be washed in the dishwasher’s upper rack. The exact page lists a 1,000-watt rating, 7.9 by 7.9 by 14.2-inch dimensions and 6.13-pound product weight. It does not publish a numeric brewing temperature or a warranty term on that page. Braun’s PureFlavor wording is a manufacturer description, not an independent temperature or taste test.
Who should compare it?
Shortlist the KF 6050 WH if you want a white-finish drip pot, scheduled start, an occasional 1–4 maker-cup batch, and the option of a reusable carafe filter. It will not satisfy a required pod route, a selectable Bold setting, or a temperature-adjustable warming plate. A user who wants more control over a glass carafe can compare the KF 7150; a pod-and-grounds household should look at an actual hybrid; someone who prefers coffee held without a heater should choose a thermal-carafe brewer. Before purchasing, confirm the exact item code on the offer and check the available package contents: the Mug2Go is separately sold, and the current Braun support center says it has no manuals for this product even though Braun’s official manual library separately hosts a Type 3107 booklet that names KF6050.
