Hamilton Beach FrontFill Mini Brew: 46112 vs. 46113

The Hamilton Beach FrontFill Mini Brew 46112 and 46113 are close in size and capacity, but they answer different morning routines. Both are grounds-only brewers with a glass carafe, front-access filling and a five-cup maker rating. The documented difference that matters most is built-in timing: the 46113 has a programmable start, while the earlier 46112 is presented as a simple switch model.

Same compact pot, not five full mugs

Hamilton Beach describes each as making up to five cups or two large 12-ounce cups. That second description is the safer way to picture a serving routine: a “cup” on a coffee maker is not automatically a full household mug. If you want several large mugs or routinely serve a group, compare a larger carafe rather than treating the five-cup number as five generous servings.

The exact U.S. pages give the same compact dimensions—about 10.3 inches high, 5.8 inches wide and 8.1 inches deep—and both describe FrontFill access and a swing-open basket. The front-fill arrangement can help when moving a brewer on the counter is inconvenient, but the machine still needs room to open its access points. Measure the space around the counter and below the cabinet instead of relying on its narrow width alone.

Neither exact page describes a pod route. Choose these only if ground coffee is the routine you want; a household that needs compatible single-serve pods should compare a different brewer. See the individual 46112 assessment and 46113 assessment for their separate model facts.

The 46113 is the one with a scheduled-start routine

The 46113’s manufacturer page specifies programming up to 24 hours ahead, a Regular/Bold selection and Auto Pause & Pour. It also says the brewed coffee stays warm in the carafe for two hours before power shuts off. Those are real day-to-day differences if you want the machine to begin before you reach the kitchen or want a stronger selectable setting. The page does not identify a warming-plate method, so do not assume that its two-hour carafe warmth answers a question that specifically requires an electric plate.

The 46112 page instead describes an on/off switch, Auto Pause & Pour, and smart-plug compatibility. It does not document a built-in delayed-start timer. Smart-plug compatibility by itself should not be treated as proof that an appliance will start brewing on a schedule: if scheduled brewing is essential, the 46113 is the supported choice here. If timing is merely a preference and you are willing to start brewing yourself, compare the simpler 46112 only after choosing to include earlier models; Hamilton Beach now marks that exact model page “No Longer Available.”

Check what the source does not settle

Both product pages list Auto Pause & Pour, but the exact manual linked by the maker does not list either 46112 or 46113 in its printed model table; it names 46110 and 46111 instead. That leaves model-specific details such as electrical rating, exact filter type, care instructions, pause interval and warranty unverified for this comparison. Do not borrow those facts from the nearby model numbers. The pages support the size, grounds route, controls and front-fill design described above; they do not justify extra claims about how long a pour pause can safely last or what basket filter to buy.

For matching, an essential request for a programmed start should separate the documented 46113 from the earlier 46112, whose timer field remains unknown. A required warming plate should not be assumed for either from the carafe description alone. If those details control your purchase, use a model with a guide that explicitly covers the exact code, or confirm the printed model number and manual before relying on a replacement part.

Which one fits?

Choose the 46113 when the five-cup glass pot is enough and a built-in 24-hour start or Regular/Bold control is important. Treat the two-hour warm period as a documented limit, not an open-ended keep-warm promise. Consider the 46112 only for an earlier-model comparison when a straightforward switch-based routine is acceptable and the exact unit is in good condition; it is not the answer to an essential timer requirement. If you need pods, more servings, or a verified plate hold time, these two close-looking FrontFill models do not remove the need to compare a different, better-documented configuration.
