Hamilton Beach FlexBrew 49922 vs. recertified R49922

Hamilton Beach sells the standard FlexBrew Advanced 5-in-1 model 49922 and a separately listed factory-recertified offer, R49922. The shared number is a useful clue, not a reason to overlook condition and warranty: the recertified offer is separately labeled by the maker and has a shorter stated warranty.

What the maker documents in common

The exact R49922 offer page repeats five routes: hot or iced single cups using a pod or grounds, plus grounds coffee in a glass carafe. It lists the same removable 60-ounce reservoir with side-or-back placement, up to 12-cup carafe, touchscreen and overall dimensions as the standard 49922 page. The regular 49922 model belongs to the A161 manual family; the printed model table names 49922 and specifies 120 volts, 60 Hz and 1,200 watts. The function assessment for this family already covers these five routes, so the R offer is not another brewing configuration and does not add a sixth mode.

Where the buyer's decision changes

Hamilton Beach describes R49922 as professionally recertified after rigorous testing and inspection, and its exact offer page states a 90-day warranty. The standard 49922 Use & Care guide states a one-year warranty for U.S. purchases of the new product. That warranty difference can matter more than the matching brew menu: choose the standard offer if the longer published U.S. warranty is important, and consider the recertified offer only if its condition and shorter coverage fit your tolerance. This guide does not assume that either seller has a particular price or inventory at the moment you shop.

The recertified page says accessories and manuals are included but does not give a detailed separate inventory in that statement. Ask the seller to confirm the delivered components and the current condition/return terms before checkout. The official R49922 page reuses the manufacturer hero labeled 49922; it represents the underlying product design, not a photograph of an individual recertified unit. It cannot establish cosmetic grade or the contents of a particular box.

Still choose by routine

If you need hot or iced single cups from either pods or grounds and want a separate grounds carafe, both codes describe that five-route plan. If you need a true grounds cold-brew steep, independent hot-water dispensing or simultaneous cup-and-pot brewing, neither code should be stretched to cover it; those features are not established by the cited material. A single cup uses the green grounds basket; carafe brewing uses the separate carafe basket and paper filter procedure in the manual. The one removable tank can move to the side or back, but check the full 12.8-by-9.3-by-16.2-inch envelope and clearance on your own counter.

Read the FlexBrew Advanced 5-in-1 functional assessment. Compare the maker's standard 49922 page, its exact R49922 recertified offer, and the official 49922 Use & Care guide. The R page's 90-day statement is separate from that base-code guide's new-product warranty.

Compare the routine, not just the feature list.
