Model comparison
Hamilton Beach FlexBrew 49935 vs 49925 vs 49957
The FlexBrew Advanced 5-in-1 49935, Advanced 4-in-1 49925 and FlexBrew Trio 49957 all let you brew single servings from more than one coffee format. Only the 49935 combines a separately documented iced routine with a glass carafe. If you compare them by the phrase “FlexBrew” alone, you can miss the practical distinction: is the pot necessary, are iced settings essential, and do you need another serving chamber or just another option?
49935: the iced cup and the pot
The 49935 has five documented routes: hot pod, hot grounds, iced pod, iced grounds, and a grounds carafe. Its hot cup sizes are 8, 10, 12 or 14 ounces; the exact manual recommends keeping pod brews to 12 ounces or less. For iced coffee it lists 10, 12 and 14 ounces with 5, 6 and 7 ounces of ice respectively. That is a defined brew-over-ice recipe, not a cold-steep setting. Its separate glass pot is rated for up to 12 cups, and the page lists a 60-ounce movable reservoir, touchscreen and Auto Brew. The maker does not establish whether the single cup and pot can brew concurrently.
That combination is useful when one person wants an iced cup while a later part of the day calls for a batch. It still has a single-serve cup route and a carafe route, not proof of independent simultaneous brewing. The manual says the timer brews according to how the brewer is set up at that time. The 12-cup glass carafe sits on a warming plate for up to four hours, so this is not the insulated-pot choice.
49925: dedicate the space to a cup
The 49925 is a four-in-one single-cup brewer, without the 49935 carafe. It also supports hot and Over Ice modes from pods or grounds, with a smaller 45-ounce removable reservoir. Its official guide gives iced sizes and ice quantities, and the unit is narrower because it does not carry a glass pot and second brew side. Pick it when a carafe has no real place in your week or counter plan. The 49935 earns its extra bulk when you need that full-pot option; the 49925 keeps the routine focused on one cup.
49957: pot plus cup, but no iced program
The 49957 Trio also pairs a single cup with a 12-cup glass carafe, and its page supports either a pod or grounds basket for the cup. It does not document a dedicated Over Ice choice. Its pod maximum is 10 ounces and its grounds cup reaches 14 ounces; it uses separate easy-fill reservoirs and has programmable carafe brewing. The 49935’s pod/grounds single-serve sizes and iced controls are broader, but its single tank is moved between back and side positions rather than giving you two independent easy-fill tanks.
If your only concern is making a batch and leaving a cup option for another time, the 49957 may already do that. Pay for the 49935’s distinction only if the measured-ice route matters. If you want iced pod/grounds choices but will never serve a pot, the 49925 is the cleaner comparison. For two single-serve cups or a shared large mug in one session, neither of these is the purpose-built answer: look at the Mix & Match 49926, which uses two cup chambers instead of a carafe.
What to check before choosing
Do not confuse carafe cup ratings with a pod size. The 49935’s 12 cups are a carafe measure, not a 12-ounce pod promise. Nor is its included green single-serve basket equivalent to a reusable carafe filter: the manual calls for a basket-style paper filter for carafe brewing, and the exact package list does not say a permanent carafe filter is included. These distinctions affect what you buy and clean after setup.
Finally, compare your actual counter and cleanup routine. The 49935 is up to 12.8 inches high, 9.3 inches wide and 16.2 inches deep; its movable reservoir may help fit around a side obstruction, but the glass-pot and top-lid clearance still matter. All three machines brew with multiple removable pieces, but the 49935 adds the iced-cup ice step and the full carafe route. No independent taste, temperature, durability or speed comparison is claimed here; the model differences above come from the manufacturers’ product pages and instructions.
