Ninja CFN601, Ninja CFP201 or Cuisinart Barista Bar?
“Grounds and pods” can describe two very different coffee stations. The Ninja CFN601 brews ground coffee and Original-style espresso capsules. The earlier Ninja CFP201 brews grounds and K-Cup-style coffee pods. Cuisinart’s Barista Bar SS-4N1NAS combines grounds, compatible single-serve pods, OriginalLine-style capsules, and a manual steam/hot-water wand. Match the holder and milk routine—not a broad category phrase—to what you actually make.
Choose CFN601 for a pot plus capsule espresso
The Ninja CFN601 has nine ground-coffee sizes, including settings from a small cup to a 12-cup glass carafe, plus Classic, Rich, and grounds Over Ice modes. The separate capsule path is limited by its guide to Nespresso Original Capsules; the manufacturer lists Espresso, Lungo, and capsule Over Ice. If you want both a pot of drip coffee and a short capsule drink in one machine, this is the central advantage.
Its carafe sits over a warming plate with Low, Medium, and High settings and up to four hours of heat. The built-in fold-away whisk helps make foam but does not heat milk, so hot milk must be warmed separately. Grounds require a #4 paper cone or a compatible permanent filter sold separately. The CFN601 is not a K-Cup brewer and does not have a bean grinder or steam wand. Select it only if those omissions fit the way you serve coffee.
Choose CFP201 when ordinary coffee pods matter
The Ninja CFP201 is an earlier grounds-and-pods brewer, not a capsule espresso station. Its manual describes a grounds basket and a separate adapter for compatible K-Cup pods, four pod-size choices, and a 12-cup glass carafe. It brews Classic, Rich, and Over Ice on both routes. The brewer is useful when the household wants a conventional single-serve coffee pod and a shared batch pot, but it does not add espresso capsules or a milk-frothing tool.
Its plate temperature is fixed; the guide allows the hold time to be set but does not offer the CFN601’s Low/Medium/High warming choices. The CFP201 is an earlier configuration, so treat it as an opt-in reference and inspect the exact model and included adapter/carafe if considering used or leftover stock. Neither Ninja system grinds whole beans.
Choose SS-4N1NAS when the wand is worth the hands-on work
The current-reference Cuisinart SS-4N1NAS Barista Bar is the broadest format mix here: the exact guide documents grounds, compatible coffee pods, OriginalLine-style espresso capsules, and a manual wand that steams milk or dispenses hot water. It also has a 12-cup glass carafe and adjustable warming. That makes it a better match when both regular K-Cup-style pods and an espresso-capsule path are essential, or when hot water and heated milk should come from the brewer.
The trade is more manual cleanup: the wand needs to be purged and wiped after use. Cuisinart’s capsule sizes are not identical to Ninja’s CFN601 Espresso/Lungo/Over Ice volume menu, so do not assume that the capsule holders or recipes are interchangeable. If you value the simpler whisk and separately heated milk, the CFN601 has the easier milk step; if you want hot water or a wand, the SS-4N1NAS has a capability Ninja does not list for this system.
Use your essential answer to narrow the choice
If you need grounds and Original-style capsules but do not need standard pods, both the CFN601 and SS-4N1NAS are reasonable current-reference comparisons. If regular single-serve pods are also essential, the SS-4N1NAS is the only one of these three with that documented route. If you only need K-Cup-style pods and carafe coffee, the earlier CFP201 fits that narrower format without an espresso capsule station. A requirement for an adjustable warming plate favors the CFN601 or SS-4N1NAS; a requirement for a steam wand and separate hot water favors the Cuisinart.
Before buying, verify the exact suffix, the container/filter pieces in the box, the capsule system named in the manual, and the space needed above the machine. The Ninja CFN601 product page showed a back-in-stock notice when reviewed; no retailer stock or price is promised here. Use the coffee-maker finder to decide which formats are essential, then compare the CFN601 review and exact alternatives before choosing.
